We really enjoyed our stay at the Helvetia and Bristol in Florence. This was undoubtedly the best hotel during our stay in Italy. The rooms are small (though this is expected almost everywhere) but the coziness and the service in the hotel are what made it amazing. I would definitely stay here again

breakfast is not good. Fruits，bread，eggs， actually everything are from ages ago. Rooms facing the street are so noisy，and you cannot close the windows to lower the volume. I can hear the fan's noise outside my room from 24hrs * 2 days

We stayed at the Hotel Helvetia & Bristol for a week while in Florence. We had a wonderful time. The entire staff was exceptional in taking care of us during our visit. Francesco (of the front desk staff) was great in his recommendations on how to see Tuscany (rent a car) and Cinque Terre (take a tour). He arranged both for us and was spot on with a route to see Tuscany.
We had book the hotel as part of a tour package and it included a breakfast buffet (it was great) and the chef would prepare eggs, etc as you like.
The only item that keeps me from giving the highest score was the room temperature; did not seem the cooling system could cool the room down. Fortunately; it was cool at night and things quieten down so we slept with the windows open.

We stayed just one night at the Helvetia & Bristol, and we both wished we could have stayed longer. The Hotel is beautiful, and the location is so convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The staff was so welcoming and helpful to us during our brief stay. Our room was quite lovely and well furnished. It was also a very comfortable size--not small like so many other hotels. The breakfast buffet was included with our room, and it was delicious. The service at check-in was excellent as was the staff in the restaurant and the bar. We are planning to return to Florence, and we would love to stay at the Helvetia & Bristol again. We enjoyed every minute.

Truly impressed by the ambience, decor and customer service of the hotel. Extremely professional and helpful hotel evening restaurant and morning breakfast team. All staff courteous. Spacious rooms (we had a connecting double room apartment style) topped off with a perfect location to sample the spender of Florence.
