Very disappointing!!! Goldcar charged me additional EUR 50 because the tank wasn't completely full - even though their collaborator at the airport explicitly told me that this amount will in my case not be charged!!! I filed a complaint with Goldcar but only got a non-saying standard answer, without going into the details of my specific case. Around Malpensa Airport, as it was evening I couldn't find any gas station where I could pay by card - only cash payment was possible. Therefore I couldn't make it completely full. The Goldcar collaborator told me that it would be ok and no penalty will be charged - otherwise I would have tried to get cash at the airport and go back to the gas station. Again: Breaking their word - very unfair and disappointing!!!

When we got there it was very hard to find the office as the office was in terminal 2, even though it didn't say that anywhere. When we finally got to the office the lady was very rude and started THREATENING us that if we made a little scratch then we have to pay €240. Then she said that we have to pay an extra €50 with a CREDIT CARD (thank God one of us had a credit card with us) and said that if we don't pay she won't give us the keys. So when we payed we went to get the car. Can I just say, the car we got was AWFUL. Everywhere there were bumps and scratches, also it was so dirty it was hard to perform an evaluation as we kept mistaking dirt for scratches and scratches for dirt. The lady who did the evaluation with us was quite nice tbh but everyone else was just nasty and rude. Lesson learnt. Never book with goldcar.

I must say I was a bit worried after reading all the bad reviews, but I must say they surprised me positively.

The initial reservation was made fairly easy online. For our trip we had to pick up a car at one airport and turn it in on another airport. That costs a bit extra, but that was to be expected.

Then just the evening before our flight (and car reservation) we had to change our flight to another airport due to a cancelled flight.
We called Goldcar and they were very helpful with changing our reservation to another airport.

We were able to cancel our initial reservation without cost (less then half a day before our reservation) and were able to get a new reservation without trouble, even though this new reservation was much cheaper, due to flying back from the same airport now.

We got an almost new car for our journey, as promised, with a full tank of gas, and we were on the road within half an hour of arriving at the Goldcar desk.

The hand in was easy enough, just a quick check for damage and gas level and we were good to go.
The reservation on the credit card was cleared within the week after.

Altogether a great experience for a good price.

I was a little doubtfull about hiring a car here when you read all these bad reviews. Strange but i had a super service today. Very friendly staff. Fast service. No pushing for extra insurance at all. As they car i requested was not immediately ready i was offered a better and newer car so we do not have you wait longer than needed. Very satisfied until now. I Will send a new review when i return the car, hopefully after a same good service!

Goldcar is able to send an e-mail with an invoice for refuel and penalty hours before they get car back. 12 hours before I returned rented car, Goldcar charged my business card for refuelling a car. Since may 2017 I try to get full refund. No success
