Best in Brera-Real italian food!
If you can find the Duomo, then you can certainly find this hidden gem in Brera. Located just a few moments (and safe) walk from the Moscova metro station off of via dell Sofarino, Da Cecco awaits to for locals and tourists.
Specializing in typical Milanese cuisine and affordably priced, you'll find an amiable staff that looks to please and serves especially good food. This area is known for having many overpriced, touristy hangouts, but Da Cecco breaks the mold.
They offer pasta and pizza as well as fish and steak. Entrees range in price from 10€-22€. Menus are available in English and Italian (and probably other languages). The staff is friendly and bilingual and the customers are mostly local. I had the house specialty - a frutta di mare covered with a pizza dough and baked in the oven. Excellent perfume of mussels, clams, octopus and baby shrimp with pasta cooked prefectly all dente. For dessert, do not miss the profiteroles which are delightfully light, chocolatey, but not over sweet.
The owners-brother and sister are on site and provide excellent service. I was there one night, without a reservation and they sat me quickly and provided the most memorable experience, when other restaurants refused to seat me.

Great food and atmosphere! Good priced and the staff are so nice. We found the place through recommendation, we asked for a restaurant that the locals like and not only the tourists around. This has definitely answered our expectations.
