A blast from the past
After driving by there for years I decided to check it out since It looked so appealing from down below.
We came here with a high expectancy, because of the lovely panoramic terrace nestled in the rock. Very unique setting!

But It's like a trip back to the 80s.
The place is unfortunately very dated and hasn't been upgraded over the years.
The setting alone isn't everything!

This is an old place that really needs a fresh up. Complete remodeling is a stringent requirement.
The place has such a unique setting like no other in Rome, but they truly need to spruce it up.
Menue cards in plastic folders always come off as truly chinzy. Please shape up or ship out.

The prices are reasonable, but the quality of the food and the service unfortunately lags behind. Medium at best.
Waiters don't even speak English and this is 2017. They missed the bus.

They're not even very well at handling complaints either.
In response to an inedible fish dish that was not even better after the second attempt, they first generously offered us to pay what we were willing to give, but then they just upped the chosen amount afterwards.
Are we at a bazar? Are we haggling for the bill here?
How weird is that?

A wonderful fine dining experience. The Carbonara is authentic and perfect, and the service is multi-lingual and very polite. The setting is the very best, though: on the side of Aventine hill with cellars below and terraces above. I think the price is well worth the quality food and romantic atmosphere. Perfect for a date in Rome.
