Amazing anatomical wax exhibition, only accessible with a (highly knowledgeable and very enthusiastic) guide. A steal at the price! Kept us busy (and satisfied) for about 2.5 hours. Located near the Boboli Gardens.

Really underrated museum! Has a really impressive variety of preserved animals and anatomy models. Some of them are older and from a time when even the taxidermists didn't know exactly what the animal looked like so they are a bit misshapen. Really worth a visit.

Lovely zoological museum. However, the wax model you can only visit by guide since september. I missed the last group so i had to pay full price for entrance and i could not see the wax models. Pitty.

If taxidermy isn't your thing, then just take a look at the beautiful mineral exhibit on the first level. Otherwise head up the stairs to see a huge collection of insects, birds, fish, and furry creatures. Not to mention the amazing human body models! Fascinating. Great for adults and kids.

Spectacular displays of taxidermy and natural history, which go on forever (in a good way!) — after each room you think "surely that's all!" only to enter another room of wonders. Human anatomy wax models are amazingly detailed (and, just maybe, a little creepy).
Wonderful to wander through, and the price is fantastic: it cost us only €13 for a family of five. Fascinating and great value.
