This hotel was in an excellent location. Walking distance to San Marco Square and restaurants/cafes. My husband and I stayed here with an open mind as it is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. And the pictures on the website advertised very beautiful rooms that went with its old era. However, we were very disappointed. The front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming. The room was extremely small, when opening the door to the room you almost hit the bed with door. The air conditioner is merely a blower fan that circulates the warm air in the room. The shower was so small you hardly fit in it without your shoulders hitting the doors. For the age of the hotel it looked clean and well maintained. The buffet breakfast was good and does get crowded if you go after 8am. Overall, I believe it's over priced (the most expensive of the three hotels we stayed in during our travels in Italy) and would not stay here again.

The staff here are very rude and when I asked to change my room they insisted I pay extra after having paid an extra 70 dollars a night already. They did not approve my refund request before even staying an hour here so I was required to stay in their hostile environment. The front desk only felt more threatening after all of this occurred. The location is great though, very central and perfect to walk around. Way overpriced for what you get here.

Great location. Almost next to St. Marks Square. Great service. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast. Room faced wall opposite but it was worth staying there for the location. Room clean and beds comfortable.
