We planned to stay at this hotel for 3 nights after the positive reviews and the 4-star rating. However, we had an unfortunate poor experience. We stayed in room 220 for one night, and it was dirty upon entering. The carpet was old and not clean. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were hard. The bathroom was not completely cleaned from previous guests (old hair in sink). Although we asked for a different room and we were willing to pay for an upgrade, we were told the hotel was completely booked and nothing else could be done. After waking up on the second day with neck pain, we decided to switch hotels. Of course, the remaining nights were not refunded and now I am in the process of going through the credit card company/AMOMA. I would not recommend staying here given our experience, which I will admit is not in line with the pictures and the other reviews listed.
In response to the owner comments, I did notify them of these issues at the time they occurred. This is an untruthful response to the situation.

The room was mediocre. It was dark, old and have no view. The bathroom did not appear as clean as I would have liked. Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary. The price for the hotel did not justify the stay. I expected more based off prior reviews.

Right on The Grand Canal, this quaint old Venitian Hotel, is comfortable and full of charm.
5 Minutes from Rialto Market, 8 From the Bridge and around 20 to St Mark's Square.
There is no lift in the Hotel, so if you are on the third floor you will need to be fit.
The continental breakfast is ok, but limited due to space and lack of facilities. This is more than made up for by the amount of restaurants local. The Staff are excellent.

The rooms although clean leaves something to be desired. The breakfast however was out of this world. Located right next to the canal the views are spectacular. We did however experience a water ambulance at 3am in the morning, luckily we were awake after our long travel from Aus.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around...
Location is next to the Gran Canal, very beautiful. Rooms are clean and appealing. The service is very nice with friendly staff.
