We've rented cars there several times and have been very happy with the cars and the service.
We highly recommend booking cars with full coverage. You'll never have any discussions about scratches and damages. Unfortunately there are many agencies offering attractive prices without any coverage, or only with liability insurance. Take a closer look when booking and you'll be able to enjoy a vacation without any extra charges.

Pay attention to the location--it is not actually at the airport and you will have to know the address to find. We were nervous that there would be some extra charge, but all seems OK. They brought sunglasses and a charger back to the airport because we left them in the car, which I appreciate!

Avoid if at all possible!!
You get sent here as the Comiso Airport site appears to be permanently closed.
This place is an utter shambles as they regularly fail to provide enough cars, leaving many customers spending the first day of their stay stranded at the Hertz compound or - if you are staying close by - hotel.
In our case case we, along with several other families, spent 6 hours waiting for cars to be brought from Catania (a 1 to 1.5 hour journey). To make matters worse, one member of staff consistently lied about the arrival time of the cars, meaning that customers were unable to make alternate arrangements.
This same member of staff was also caught repeatedly attempting to sell unnecessary insurance to customers who already had full cover.
All in all, a very poor advert for Hertz!

Terrible service, DO NOT use them. They charge you €50 flat fee if you return the car with a bit of sand! Comiso is very near the seaside so of course many tourists hire cars to go to the beach like we did so they expect you to clean the car for them if you don't want to be charged which is RIDICULOUS! On top of that, the very cheeky staff will find a way to make you pay for scratches that were there before - we picked up our car in the evening when it was dark so we missed it. They charged us €170 for a minor scratch that was already there for sure! We were very careful and even used our friends' car in the evenings to avoid potential vandalism, we were really upset that Hertz had to find a way to get so much money out of our pockets. I will DEFINITELY NEVER USE AGAIN.

Terrible experience. Do not use them! use another provider.. they have charged us !!170 euro!! for a minor scratch on the rearview mirror..but most importantly check your car properly at collection.
