Quiet place. Perfect for meditating, walking, or just relaxing.

Place to meditate close to nature. Ancient energy all around from old Kuroda castle.

I was struck by how beautiful the view is from this park during Sakura Season. This is one of the best places to view the sea of Sakura blossoms in late March/Early April. If you happen to be in Fukuoka during Sakura season, make sure you go to the Maizuru Park and to the top of the lookout station they have there. The view of the city and Sakura blossoms is amazing! This is also a wonderful place where the Japanese gather, enjoy eating together under the cover of the trees. There are several vendors in certain areas who sell delicious and creative foods. Make sure to spend an afternoon here and just relax and see the Japanese unwind and enjoy life, laughter and company.

It's a tranquil place adjacent to the Fukuoka Castle ruins. A good place for recreation.

Linked to Ohori park via aa nice flowery entrance. Definitely more geared toward outdoor activity, as the nice grass flat is perfect for field sports. The surrounding pathways are unpaved, so it gets a little tricky after rain (which was the case our first visit there), and last time there was a large marching band practicing and kicking up a large amount of dust. Lots of stalls in this area and picnics during Hanami season. All in all a nice park, however no different from a large park in any other place.
