What a treat! We had a wonderful time here hanging out with the owner, who speaks English quote well. The sake was really great, and the owner's ability to choose for you was also great. The side dishes were delicious too! This was one of my favourite places in Kyoto! Highly recommend it!

Great place for expert knowledge on saké! Owner speaks great English and can help you find what your looking for. As consistent with every other quality establishment in Japan there is a cover charge, so make it worth your while and taste a few different types

OK, this is the place THE place want to be if you want to taste sake. The staff speak english and known he's stuff. We had some hard time finding a place to drink good sake in a cosy place and it seems like it's really to find simply because sake it's not popular. This place is one of the few you get this enjoy a vast variety of fine sake.

Walked in after having dinner nearby just looking for a place to have drinks. Once we entered everyone looked at us as if my wife and I were there to cause some trouble. Guy at the bar said it was a 500 yen cover charge without saying anything else. It's one thing to charge a cover charge when there's a band or something, but just to get a drink at a place that probably seats 20 people??? I don't think so. FYI there were probably 4-5 other patrons in there already so it's not like it was a happening place

Might be great IF YOU EVER CAN GET THERE. Google hours inaccurate. Sign on the door for opening hours inaccurate. Finally on the third day we were told needed reservations. Absolutely no way to know that or make them since he isn't there when he says he's going to be there and doesn't make any attempt to communicate these points in any other public way.
