There is a mall on the other side of a nearby tram station that is pretty amazing. Plenty of food options within walking distance. The onsen is also very relaxing. 10/10 would do again.

The hotel rooms are spacious and are comfortable. Good for Kids because of the room size. The public bath was great. However NO INTERNET was available in the room as was promised when booked and advertised as well. There was NO connectivity AT ALL. Also staff were non-responsive to other requests about services available. The location is GREAT as it is close to the station, but I feel that the HOTEL doesn't care about reviews because Kyoto gets enough tourism traffic not to matter. If you need the Internet to plan trips or excursions, this hotel is not ideal.
