Nice hotel albeit a little old. It's a mix of an old building with newer wings that were attached so it's a little confusing to navigate sometimes. Rooms are a mix of traditional and western. Rooms did the trick and were clean though! Morning buffet was pretty good too. They accommodate our allergies nicely and always made something special to make sure there was no cross contamination which was nice. Good location to downtown Kyoto and the train station as well as several temples.

The rooms are good. If you are lucky and stay in a traditional room, it is amazing!!! The staff is polite and ready to serve.

We stayed in a combination Western/Japanese style room, which was wonderful. The amenities, including the food, were very high quality. And, of course, the staff was very kind and helpful.

The traditional Japanese we booked came with two single beds and an attached tatami room, which makes the room all the more spacious. You could definitely fit up to 8 people in the room, although there were only the two of us.
The free breakfast was decent—I enjoyed the variety of Japanese and Western options there.
There's also a public bath available to be used on the premises, although we didn't explode that option during our stay.
