Staff are great!! Convenience with Kyoto station a short walk. Rooms are a little bit of a let down, in all OK to stay.

The hotel staffs are friendly and fast check in/out. I love the free shuttle bus from the hotel to Kyoto station. However I feel the hotel should upgrade its furniture, the sofa and chair are somewhat old and dusty.

Rooms were not available at check-in time, pointing to poor manangement. Foreigners, even permanent residents, can look forward to staff demanding a copy of their passport or other ID. Note this is not required by law, and not asked of Japanese Nationals.
This kind of practice is typical of old-style hotels who are out of touch with the current economic situation in Japan, and who continue to racially profile their customers, under the assumption that Japanese can automatically be trusted, but foreigners can not.
Room was ok. But for the money, I think foreigners can find better value and service elsewhere.

Very great hotel for our Kyoto trip. Works very well with our dates and the beds are super comfortable. I would definitely recommend checking this place out! The only thing is it might be a little bit expensive, but for the quality, it is worth it.

They do not have laundry machines, but instead laundry service. It would be nice if the place had laundry machines, so you can get laundry done in 1 day and also not pay too much. The swimming pools hours are only 11am to 9:30pm which seems pointless for business travelers and vacationers since that is the time they will be out and about in the city. Also, it is an additional cost and not free to use the health club or swimming pool. This is 1st hotel, I've stayed where they charge to use the swimming pool. I needed to print out some documents for work and they charged me for the paper. I tried to view the water fall garden but they kicked me out when it wasn't open in the morning, which seemed a bit strict. The rooms do not have ironing boards, but some sort of press to iron wrinkled pants but difficult to use for shirts. The wifi is a little sketchy at times. It's a shame for such a nice hotel, the service and policies are so terrible and they try to charge you for everything.
