Must be one of the most awful fine dining experience anywhere.
There is great pretence by all the staff as if this was a temple of high gastronomy. From reading the raving reviews online I suppose they would be led to think so.
There are really two types of fine dining with modern techniques. The good ones are those that enhance taste and texture by innovative ingredients combination, flavor exchange and technique. The worst kind are the ones that play with food like jigsaw puzzles or technological wonders, without improving taste or texture that produces a big "so what?"
Three course into this meal and I was wondering how it ever managed to get a good review at all, let alone two Michelin stars. Totally unmemorable.
Came their signature dish - a mixture of a large variety of vegetables, each represented by one single dice, topped with a cliché foam, and served in a table top sized round platter where two diners are to each the vegetables on their respective sides. In terms of taste and texture, it is intensely boring. It is annoying that the chef uses such a crude trick to lure the gullible into thinking this is a gastronomic experience to rave about. Not at this level of restaurant and not at these prices. Please! I wonder if this is what pigs do around a trough during feeding time.
Two main course finally arrived. Pork and a smoked pigeon breast. They are nicely and carefully cooked. But plain and unremarkable. Frankly by this time (past the second hour) it was too little too late to save the evening.
Then four dessert dragged the dinner out to over 3 hours. I seriously contemplated just standing up and walking out had we not paid such a high price for this rubbish.
Don't get me wrong. In terms of food it was not disastrously. It was just the underwhelming dishes, the lack of interesting taste and interesting texture, hyped by the pretense of high gastronomy, and at a price that is easily 50% above most Michelin starred restaurants in Osaka, that makes it annoying.

Chef Hajime Yoneda is a lover of nature, and each of his creations whisks you away into their glorious namesakes - a rock pool with sand and glittering water, a foamy sea, a wintry path and the crunch of ice beneath your shoes, a fruit hanging from a branch. It was a dinner I will always remember. The dish Planet Earth will take your breath away.

Very special dishes. Pricey, but highly recommended.

Superb experience from a chef who cooks with his heart and passion ! Every dish is an art . Enjoy a magnum of 1972 Chateau Cheval Blanc ( birth year of Hajime Yoneda ) here with the chef , the manager , the sommelier and my friends ! An excellent night !
