The main, large suits are amazing. Plus, the food is phenomenal -- out of this world. The restaurant has it's own garden, and the service here is impeccable. My only complaint was that our room's shoji door had a big water stain on it and wasn't particularly noteworthy, though we stayed in a small room. I'd still stay here again though.

Very friendly staff (they know enough English for someone who knows zero Japanese to stay here), fantastic food, great garden and spacious rooms. The only flaw is the interior needs a lot of repair from a lot of torn wallpaper, marks on the walls, and large stains on the carpet in the central room.

This ryokan had top-notch service, with friendly staff who were eager to serve. The in-room kaiseki dinner exceeded our expectations, and the in-room bath featured a spectacular view of our dedicated rock garden. You can to and from the ryokan from Kyoto Station via the Number 5 city bus.

Excellent ryokan, great service and top breakfast. Close to a subway station with a few restaurants near by but otherwise every quiet. Onsen in the hotel was good too.

We stayed in one of the suites with a private bath overlooking the garden on the second floor. The room was beautiful and had a thousand beautiful little surprises. Traditional kaiser dinner was delicious. Overall a great stay!
