its a cool place...much better than 3 stars that i'm giving. i was just there with someone who was a pill that day. not this place's fault i suppose but it kinda affected the day.

This is, by far, the best place in Tokyo for Sakura (cherry blossom) viewing. It is spectacular if you visit during sakura season. Try to avoid weekends, but even if you are not able to, go...it is worth it. And if you do not rent a boat you will regret it.

Beautiful cherry blossoms lining the street. There is a light up at night but no "matsuri" with food and games here. However you can rent a boat and row it around the moat to enjoy the cherry blossoms.
It is also too crowded to have picnic under the trees here along the moat, so if you want to experience what the locals do, suggest going into garden area where the Nippon Budokan is!
