We rented a car from Aquarius in May. The car was fine but I most certainly wouldn't rent from this outfit again or recommend them to anyone. Calling it a scam would be disingenuous as they do provide a warning of the extra fees associated with the rental but they don’t really list what all the fees cost until you sign to pick up the car. Some of the fees/issues include:
- Our flight was delayed by around 45 mins and we missed the office hours by what I believe was 20 mins or so. 18.75 Euros fee. When we left we flew out early so we had to pay it again. Their office hours are from 1000 to 1600. I found this fee funny as they don’t have an office at the airport. You meet an indiscreet gentlemen gentlemen downstairs in the airport adjacent to the food court.
- There are pickup and drop-off fees of 18.75 Euro (this is mentioned when you book) because they don’t have an office at the airport.
- The gas fee is truly outrageous. We had the car for a week and the fuel surcharge was probably 3 or 4 times what we would have actually spent on fuel. They say it’s “due to fueling logistics.” Lord only knows what that means as there are fuel stations everywhere on the island. They do not advertise the price per liter when you book. This is a mandatory fee.
- Approximately 4 months after we returned our car rental a mysterious charge of 34.14 Euros showed up on my credit card from Aquarius. They did not contact me about an extra cost. After I contacted them and after a few days going back and forth via email it turns out we obtained a CVA fine on our trip. The fine was 1.64 Euro with a 29.50 Euro Administration fee (from Aquarius). This is a 1900% markup and no notification of the extra charge.
- The day we picked up our car the guy who met us asked that we drop him off at a random intersection not far from the airport. He was a pleasant enough fellow but this is quite unprofessional.
So in the end the 82.5 Euro advertised rate came out to 242.57 Euros. Just something to be aware of when you book. Also, they shouldn’t be charging your credit cards months after your trip without notifying the customer. Go with a more reputable company.

EXTRA charge 18 Euro on pick up the car which not mention on the booking , BEWARE of this company , they have no counter at the airport , and they will ask you to pay 1000 euro on insurance ( unblock your credit card money) in case any accident or damage , it's really ridiculous, others big brand car rent company which have a nice service and counter show cheaper and reasonable on insurance, finally we go to Herts so reasonable and nice service with No extra charge only take 100 euro for deposit and you get full insurance. My advice for others stay away on this company!!

If there will be a possibility of zero stars I will give it to this company. I show up 1 hour later and they cancel a booking without any proposal of solution. Stay away from them!

Like all the other reviews have said, they add on extra fees when you go to pick up the car, and they don't even provide you with the car you pay for
We got a Hyundai i10 despite booking a Toyota Yaris. My friend who made the booking, picked up the car at 1 am and was told to pay an extra 14euros for an "after hours pick-up fee" (which had already been paid for as you select the pick-up time when ordering from the website). When she tried to argue it, she was told 'it's 1am, you might as well pay it.'
On top of this, they wanted to put a 1000 euro holding deposit on her card which she refused. Instead she opted for paying extra insurance of 15 euros per day.
What should have been a seamless car pick-up turned into an hour and a half of disputing extra charges and finally at 2.30am she was able to drive away with the car.
However, now she is in the process of dealing with unauthorised transactions on her card from Aquarius.
