Don't waste your time on this "museum", it's a complete let down and disappointing to the last.
You certainly don't want to pay 5 EUR to get to see some lifesize wax figurines, tabletop sceneries and boringly uninformative poor descriptions, accompanied by historical inaccurate replicas. or boring cellars filled with junk in the latter part of the "museum".
You don't get to know anything about the reasons for the crusades, nor how many have been.
You don't get to know anything about the knights fortresses or arming or cultural or economical power.
You don't get to know anything about their decline nor why they still exist.
You don't even get an overview about the knights timeline. you jump from 13th to 16th to 18th century, without any information what happened in between.
you don't get to know why the knights happily surrendered to Napoleon, nor why his occupation was easily broken by the royal empire.
You don't get to know anything at all.
don't go there, it a money printing machine living in the heritage if the knights hospitallers, that's all...
Do yourself a favour and go to see Fort St. Elmo instead.
For only 5 EUR more you get historical accurate information, nice artifacts and everything presented in an educative way.
And it's just across the street.

Entrance fee was 5 Eur. Not a large museum, but interesting. Can see the whole museum quickly in about 25 minutes or so. The photos you see of a large hall are not actually in the Hospitaller museum proper, but part of the convention center.
