I had arranged to do a 2 day/1 night holiday with the Nepal Yoga Academy at the end of my 3 week trip through India and Nepal. After a lot of mails back and forth, everything was finally arranged. Althou I never got a straight answer on being brought to the airport in time for my flight...
They asked me to send an email a day before my expected arrival date so they could arrange the transfer from my Kathmandu hotel. As I realised they are quite slow, I sent an email 3 days before. And got no reply... I resend my email twice after that but still no answer. In the end I tried texting and calling but still nothing.
Finally on the day I was supposed to leave they sent me an email at 5am informing me they would pick me up at 2pm that afternoon. Taking into account it takes about 2 hours to drive to the retreat that would mean I would only be there from 4pm to 12 noon the next day - as I really need to leave at 12 to catch my flight. A transfer on which by the way they still did not give me confirmation they would arrange...
This is not what I signed up for and now I have to find new accommodation in Kathmandu, and miss out on doing yoga in Nepal.
Awfull organisation and communication.

Signed up for the teacher training. it only took a few days for me to see that guruji chintamani, laxmi, and everyone else are an extended yoga family for me. The classes are good and they will work with you and any issues you have. Chintamani si very well connected across Kathmandu and nepal. Highly recommend trying them out! The classes focus mostly on ashtanga yoga but they talk about all kinds of traditional theory. I do wish we had more teaching time but the experience of meeting a group of wonderful yoga friends is truly amazing. Also; Both houses are nice but be sure to bring some natural bug spray if you are coming during monsoon as those mosquitos are thick in august, esp at the bamboo house. Also I liked having some supplemental protein with me as the food is very traditional (vegetarian/no eggs) daal bhat and curry most days. The cook at bamboo house is very good fyi:)

After 10 days of trekking we spent 4 great relaxing and energyzing days with "Nepal Yoga Retreat". It was a great time!
The atmosphere is very good: Great views from location, good and clean rooms, a very good/various food, kind service. And great yoga-classes from master Dr. Chintamani!
Full recommendation for this location!

Good value for the teacher training. The staff were lovely, the setting was beautiful and the view peaceful in the mountains. The course itself was good, found that the curriculum was a bit unorganized and the students were planning our own teaching schedules. Was supposed to have 10 hours of teaching in the training, but because of the class sizes we only had 4 hours which included only 1 full yoga class, that was the biggest frustration of the course. Otherwise, the food was fantastic, it was healthy and delicious. We were concerned about going vegetarian for 4 weeks and being hungry but loved it so much kept it up afterwards. We did lots of extra including a cleanse and hikes as well as taking part in local celebrations. The rooms were shared but the people that came were so wonderful. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is a beginner/intermediate yogi and wanting to start teaching, or as many in our group, love yoga and want the experience in Nepal is a great reason to go too.
