Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek

The route discovered by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgayto climb Mt. Everest was the trail from Jiri to Everest Base Camp. They followed this route to conquer the highest peak of the world in 1953 A. D. It is also famous as ‘Classic Route to Everest’. Jiri is regarded as gateway to Mt. Everest from this perspective. Jiri is located at Dolakha district. Jiri is famous for kiwi as Swiss people came here to cultivate this land and help grow kiwi for the very first time. It is also called ‘Switzerland of Nepal’ because of its beauty.

It is a 27 days trail from Jiri to Everest Base Camp. If you are planning a long vacation in Nepal then you should not miss a golden chance of trekking EBC. Here, you will encounter Sherpa people as they are native people of this region and they follow Buddhism.
