Super nice and tasty food, great host/owner. Not cheap but great value for money. (Vegetarian)

My partner took me here as a surprise for my birthday where upon arrival we were told we would get a surprise menu (he contacted them before and did not know about this). We found it very strange that we were not asked about allergies or things we don't eat; something to be expected if you don't have a say at all about the menu. Eg. one of us is vegan and the starter unfortunately contained dairy yoghurt. The wait between every course was very long; after each course we had to wait a minimum of an hour to be served and not once were we asked for refills of drinks. We were one of the first to arrive in the restaurant and towards the end we got our desserts about the same time as people who arrived an hour later than us. The food was good and the host was very friendly, but I don't feel like we got the service expected from a very small and classy place like this.

I am a vegetarian. Usually prepare food myself. It is rather simple, but the ingredients are of a good quality, so I know what I eat. I hardly go out to eat, because it's usually not a good experience.
If I go out to eat it is Betty's.
The food served there is an art in itself! You can taste in the courses the passion of the owners and their love to what they are doing. And when there is love and passion, success comes in the package. And that's the secret of Betty's.

Excellent. Great atmosphere, and wonderful food. We had Valentine's dinner here and loved it. The menu was preset for Valentines with about 12 small dishes that were all great. Each dish was explained giving information on its history (region of the world) and spices. Great wine too. The couple that own Betty's are celebrating 25 years of being in business, which is no surprise given the quality of the food and how welcome they make you feel. We will be going back every trip to Amsterdam.
