Nice hotel for a quick weekend break. Large clean rooms. Friendly well informed staff. Breakfast is standard buffet style. Parking is across the road in a multi storey car park. Payment is made in the hotel and you can come and go as you please. Hotel is near lots of bars cafes etc but quiet at night.

Hampshire hotel Hengelo ruined my honeymoon. We are traveling from Canada to Hengelo on our honeymoon thinking everything was arranged and taken care of but we were tricked in the end. We had called many months before hand and even two days before our departure, to see if our arrangements would still be honoured. We asked if we could stay for 13 days and pay at the end of our visit. Were just married and our finances are stressed till our wages would go in, and that would go through while we're on vacation. We knew the money's would be there. So after about 24 hours of buses, trains and planes, customs in Belgium we arrive in Hengelo off to the hotel, where they demanded a guarantee of the full balance, which is the same as paying upfront anyways. We didn't have it. We have our spending money in cash for the trip but if we paid, all we would be able to afford is to pick our nose in our room for the duration of our visit. We paid for one night, $149CDN on our overdraft. All the while pretending they never heard our story till that moment. I almost felt we were tricked to coming there at any means possible. We never wrote any names of the people we talked too and should of had a contract faxed to us. Trusting them with every word. Luckily we have alot of contacts in the area, and I have quite alot of history in Hengelo and that we have a place to stay temporarily. I will never ever stay there again. Be careful people.
