I got caught in the rain and thought I'd treat myself to some poffertjes. I went in (only customer at the time) and out of 6 staff members sitting around, no one greeted me. For a second I thought it was closed so I asked and was told I could sit down. Long story short, I ordered some poffertjes and they arrived raw on one side and burned on the other. Raw as in they were sticking to each other and were slimy in the uncooked side- completely unset. I'm pregnant so I don't want to risk eating raw food containing eggs. After trying to get the waitress' attention to address the issue I gave up and went to pay. The waitress actually scoffed and sighed when I came to the till and then turned her back to me. Luckily someone else came to the till and I told him I that I didn't eat my pancakes because they were raw and he literally said nothing. He just silently gave me the bill and waited for the money. No apology, no "let me take that off the bill", not even a denial or a "that's not possible."
Overall a really unfriendly atmosphere and awful food. I hate leaving negative reviews (and always try to resolve issues at the restaurant rather than leave a bad review) but it had to be done. 1 star for location and cleanliness as tables and menus were clean. That's the only positive I can think of.

I'm going to assume they've had a transitional period, as I've never experienced bad cooking or bad service as many reviews suggest. I had not been here for a few years but went back again yesterday. Indeed, there were new people at the front of the house, but they were as polite and attentive as those in the past.
I've had better poffertjes now and then than the ones they serve here, but certainly I've had many that were far worse as well! Balanced cooking, served on nice plates and doused with powdered sugar, and no lazy huge chunks of butter or anything like that. I'd dare to call them, like the pancakes, authentic and very Dutch. I'd recommend the poffertjes with ice cream (and whipped cream if your sweet tooth is monstrously insatiable).
Prices are a little high, but, depending on your selection, you could also find your portions quite generous. There's a lot of place to sit, and quite honestly, whether you've come here for a faire or a walk in the park, you won't find any places nearby that will be better to rest your feet and enjoy a bite of Dutch pavillion food.
