They have the normal Dutch cafe selection of dishes. But their bread is amazing. Old style interior, with a lovely court yard with plenty of seating and considerate service.

Mooi café met wel forse prijzen. Rekende 36 euro af voor 3 koffie, een wijntje en 2 burgers. Smaak OK, dat wel.

I often stop at Grand Café Public when downtown in Zwolle. Whether meeting a friend for lunch or coffee before or after a film next door at Fraterhuis or in the evening after late shopping for a drink, for me it's no brainer: Public is at the top of my list of options in that part of the city centre. There is competition nearby, but neither offers the service, atmosphere and quality that I experience here. I recently went there for dinner on a Thursday evening and again, I got confirmation that Grand Café Public is always a good choice when in Zwolle.

Cosy and friendly cafe with a fine selection of local fair. Had the kroketten here, was enjoyable. English menu available for foreigners. Great view of the Museum Fundatie from the terrace.
