Loved the history. Our family had a tour through riccarton house our tour guide john was amazing he explaned the history of deans family very well even looked the part..amazing woman jane dean an inspiration to all and the scottish bravery which makes me proud to have scottish ancestry..may riccarton house and its history be around for another 100+ years 😄🙄

Amazing atmosphere. Excellent taste. Good coffee. Great homemade butter with garlic bread. Kindly but slow response.

The place itself is beautiful, however the cafe experience was average. We ordered 2 takeaway coffees and then handed a table number to 'hold' (long stemed-style) which was odd, especially given there was only one other person waiting for coffee. A group of friends arrive after me, their interaction with the guy behind the counter suggests they are friends. They got their coffee order before mine so I had waited 20mins in total for 2 average tasting coffees.
The place itself is beautiful, however the cafe experience was average. Riccarton House I can take or leave, but Riccarton Bush, just beside it? Ohhhh, I love it. It's a 20 minute walk through bush... but in the middle of a city. Easy to forget that a few hundred metres in either direction and you're in a supermarket or in the middle of a busy intersection.. This place is quiet, and fresh, and like a little green oasis.
