Good views of the beach and ocean. Lots of shade and places to have a break from driving. Nelson has awesome weather so it was quite a nice place to chill out.

The playground is ok, although part of it is currently being upgraded. I loved the whale when I was a kid. However the highlight of Tahunanui is the fabulous beach. Very safe for children, great for swimming and excellent for walking especially at low tide.

Our kids always have a super fun time when they visit this playground. We usually top it off with a nice stroll along the beach. Plenty of parking, and toilets close by.

My toddler loves playing here. Loves the slide in the castle best. It's great playing outdoors in the fresh air.
