Just went to the night bar.Cant be outside after 10pm.Staff is not friendly at all, almost to the point of being rude.Its just a big machine without being that great.Don't feel like in NZ there. I guess people go there as its one the only place to party in Pahia..

Had a double room. Very comfy bed. Small kitchen that was well furnished. Nice staff member. BBQ was very tasty. Nice common area. Main kitchen is well furnished as well. They are close to everything: countdown, liquor shop and the wharf. Clean room and common area. If you are in Paihia for a few days I would totally recommend.

Excellent location right on the beach and 10 min walk to supermarkets.
Kitchen is clean and well stocked with dishes etc, gets a bit grubby with everyone leaving dishes in the sink but this gets cleaned every night. There's free tea bags in reception and a coffee machine ($).
Not a place to come if you want a quiet night - it's the recommended hostel for Kiwi Experience and Stray bus and there's a loud bar next to the rooms.
For a Base though it's pretty small and much nicer / cleaner than Bases in city centres. In winter prices get reduced.
There are outlets inside the lockers in the rooms which are hard to spot, everyone was using the 3 sockets that were under the beds until we spotted them
BBQ every night for $12 which is only worth it if you eat meat and want the wine/beer included.
I had an 8 bed dorm with an en suite which was clean with decent beds and space for luggage however sharing a bathroom with 8 people there was always people waiting for showers/ toilets in the morning.
There's a big lounge with tv and movie selection and free wifi in the lounge between 7am-7pm. This is good if it rains as there's nothing to do nearby in bad weather. The wifi is really slow but you can upgrade $6 for 24 hours.
There is a jacuzzi and pool but it is very small and pretty grubby looking (see pics)

Noisy partyhostel.the rooms are ok. Staff got drunk and smoked weed and was unfriendly

Great location and nice staff. Rooms are okay if not spectacular, kitchen is small but clean and functional. Base is great if you have a Base jumping pass, as it's probably worth the $27 (equivalent) you pay, however at $34 per night normally there are equally good places to stay for less cash. Ultimately good, but very overpriced. Look elsewhere if possible (or better, especially if on kiwi experience, buy the jumping pass in advance)
