I had the displeasure of driving behind a Maui rental around Wanaka, I assume rented from Queenstown. The car was blowing vast amounts of smoke for the 30 minutes we were stuck behind it indicating this company does not maintain its vehicles.

We rented from Maui for a bit over two weeks. No orientation was offered for the van other than to give us the keys and the satnav, even after a request. The allegedly premium van came with linen that had to be seen to be believed for poor. The radio didn't work and wouldn't bluetooth, the DVD player didn't work. The heater could't keep the van warm. The main bed situated over the vehicle cabin leaked when it rained, resulting in sheets getting wet and could not be warmed up. The gas stove did not like to stay lit. There was no way to run a toaster when not attached to 240v (again this was not explained). The van had to be recharged every second day and only had enough water for one day. We ended up using the van as transport and staying at hotels. For 3k for a bit over two weeks there are many better options. The only positive was Maui reimbursing us for new linen and waiving another cost. I would not rent a van again after the Maui "Premium" experience. There are better options for your money.

Worst campervan company in my life. After almost 30 years camping all around the world, this is the first time a camper renting company let me down. The maintenance of the van was horrible, making it very unsafe to drive. The GPS didn't work, we got lost more than once in places with no Internet signal. Radio didn't work, wifi didn't work, reverse camera didn't work, the first aid kit was broken, the wheels were not aligned...
For the price I expected a kind-of-premium service and quality. Worse camping experience ever.
