Had a terrible experience with the owner who was being extremely obnoxious towards us! Booked for a two night stay through the hotel’s website. After we received our booking confirmation, the owner emailed us demanding we pay double the price of the advertised rate. We pointed out to him that this is false advertising which he just became more obnoxious and cancelled our reservation as he obviously realised he was in the wrong and no way out for him. The cancellation did not bother us as there are plenty of beautiful properties in Queenstown and who would want to stay with such a rude host anyway?
After we had this dreadful encounter we jumped on Trip Advisor and filtered on the terrible and poor reviews for this hotel and surprise, surprise these reviewers had the exact same experience as us ranging from false advertising, rude & defensive owner and the list goes on. This did make us laugh as we realised the problem is with this owner and not us and his responses to these reviewers were laughable as well, interesting that any issues were the guests fault and not the host – says a lot doesn’t it! We just feel sorry for these poor people who had to endure an actual stay at this property and we were the lucky ones who got away and can go and spend our money elsewhere with businesses who operate ethically.
Please do read these reviews (and the owners responses!) before you book, because if you do decide to book here and something goes wrong you will end up with a terrible, terrible experience!

My husband and I booked this property for a 2-day stay through the hotel’s website. They advertised a package at a certain price which we booked. We received the booking confirmation detailing our 2 nights and the total cost to be paid for our stay as per the price on their website.
A few days later we received an email from Peter, who I assume is the owner saying that the package is now double the price and we need to understand this to confirm the booking. We went back to him saying that was not the advertised price on their website or the booking confirmation we received. His response: “I’m not arguing with you over this” and he became extremely rude and defensive quoting random figures that weren’t adding up, offering a ‘gesture of goodwill’ because we booked over Easter. We didn’t book over Easter, we booked four weeks after Easter so fail to understand what he was offering except demanding for us to still pay the sudden huge price increase. He clearly doesn’t have a clue what he is talking about, his behaviour was disgusting and businesses like these are an embarrassment for the New Zealand tourism industry.
We have previously stayed at many great Queenstown properties with lovely owners, this is not one of them. Do yourself a favour, take your money elsewhere and you won’t regret it.

Lovely hotel. Central location and short walk to all the Queenstown has to offer. Staff was great. Breakfast was my favorite part of the day, wish I could bring that back home! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice spacious rooms with beautiful views. It is also very clean and comfy. Very convenient location a couple minutes walk from town and free parking and wifi.
