Beautiful quiet spot. Didnt see another soul anywhere near me whole time i was here. Definitely a hidden wellington gem. I walked through on the southern walkway hike (google maps has it drawn wrong on their maps - follow pink markers). Gorgeous views from here overlooking welly airport. Drops one star as place feels a little unattended.

Beautiful spot, I visited there for a work trip and it was a beautiful building. Lookout over wellington was breathtaking

Nice old building, some history plaques and some mountain biking in the trees just to the north. Great section of the Southern Walkway

The Truby King House is a wonderful look back at our history and the views around the grounds looking out over Kilbirnie and Lyall Bay make the walk through the Pines well worth it.
