Tastefully updated hotel with beautiful views of the Playa, sunsets and surroundings. We stayed in the terrace room, which felt like a penthouse! AC is powerful and quiet, which we took for granted before coming to central America. The staff is amazing and so helpful in assisting you with anything you may need in your stay! Wasn’t perfectly quiet at night but I doubt anywhere in SJDS could ever be. Bathrooms are large and spacious, beds comfortable and so many little extras everywhere you looked. Thanks Hotel Alcazar, we will definitely stay here next time we’re down this way!

We stayed at Alcazar in December 2014 excellent hotel with an amazing staff Nelly , Daniel and the housekeepers.
Great rooms with beautiful view to the beach but ... be ready for the late night parties Noise.
A note if you go in December don't expect any christmas ambient there :) they don't see to celebrate it.
Thank you Alcazar :)

We stayed at Hotel Alcazar over Semana Santa week. The Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. It felt like a refuge from the masses. We also appreciated security on site. Claudia and Alfredo are assets to your team as they made us feel as if we've been there many times before. If we return to San Juan Del Sur, we would definitely stay there again.

When you see ear plugs included with your room amenities, you soon learn the reason why. This was the most noisiest place I have ever stayed. One night there was a volley ball tournament with loud music along with the usual night club music that will blast and pound until 3 am every night.
Peace and quiet this is not. The staff was alright until one afternoon my sister-in-law came for a visit who was staying at a near by hotel called Rosie's. The front desk attendant immediately followed her to our room and told her to leave. We were embarrassed that such a seemingly nice hotel would be so rude. A simple request with an explanation to our guest would of been more appropriate.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
