Flabbergasted at some of the bad reviews. We loved our stay! We got a great price for a lovely and spotless private room (with AC!). The facilities were top notch - big kitchen, pool, bar, etc. The staff (including the super sweet owner) was impeccable. Right on the beach, right in town...the perfect place to see the Saturday night fireworks. We liked SJdS so much I decided to rent a house here...and we still stop by to see the owner occasionally, simply because he's such a cool dude and we like chilling out there :) All in all, this is one of my favorite hostels of all time. STAY HERE.

There is no easy access from the Hostel, although is beach front. Breakfast is included but its coffee and toast.

Nice social hostel nearby the beach
I stayed 1 week in San Juan del Sur and my stay at Yajure's hostel was very enjoyble. The facilities for recreation that we had were very good (table tennis, swimming pool, slack line) although some others were not working so good (TV, some toilets). We had some issues with the internet connections ans was not working or very slow for a few days and also when many people were using it. (I guess that had nothing to do directly with the management).
The staff was very nice and I would recommend to friends to go and stay there

Would totally not recommend this hostel.. The owner Chelli stole some stuff, and we caught him red-handed. While trying to confront him with it, he got really defensive and angry about it. We decided to leave asap.

My friends and I made the mistake of having a drinks at the hostel. I hadn't been drinking a lot cause my stomach could only handle so much due to something I had eaten a couple days prior. Needless to say, I was sober. Our "bartender" / owner of the hostel by the name of Chelli (I likely spelt his name wrong) encouraged us to not pay our tab until we left the next morning. He ended up leaving unusually early...walking right past my friends and I when we said good morning and drove away. I knew something was not right. I was left with a bill and no choice but to pay it because he had my passport number. I was charged for 18 drinks when i had only had 2. Ruined my budget for the rest of my trip. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSTEL.
