We have been here for three days, and honestly, before we came, I wanted to change hotels because of the negative reviews. Glad I didn't. Givem this is a three star hotel, the only negative I can agree to is the lack of variety for the continental breakfast. The rolls change daily, but one only has the choice between a local sort of salami (chorizo) and something that resembles ham. They serve fruit out of a can, though fruit here is REALLY cheap. They could really do better by throwing out a few bananas, oranges, and cantaloupe or other easy options. Otherwise, the rooms and hotel are clean. At breakfast, the crumbs from the floor are promptly swept away. In the rooms, I can confirm there are a meager 3 electrical outlets (1 of those in the bathroom). The matresses aren't particularly new, but speaking as a person with back/joint problems, I have slept on worse matresses. If you expect newly remodeled, modern, or luxury, look for a four or five star hotel. Hotel Montmar is, in my opinion a super friendly, clean hotel that is at the top of the three stars they have.

Although one cannot expect a suite for the price, we were astonished how old the furniture and bathroom are (at least 50 y.o.). Very ugly old taps that already lost their color! In addition the canalization is outside of the walls, incredible such conditions in Europe!
The buffet breakfast was very poor, only one sort of cheese and of ham.
No fresh fruit, (can fruit salad instead) although fruit in Portugal is very cheap! No healthy cereal, no eggs and miserable orange juice. Only one employee serving breakfast every day, so that we had to clean up the table ourselves.
Wi-Fi only available near the reception. No help from the hotel staff to do online check-in! We will for sure never go back.
The only positive aspect is the parking facility, but it doesn't belong to the hotel.
