Top location but very noisy. Old hotel. Only clean area was the bed. Needs to be fully renovated. Furniture and carpet dirty, ripped and stained. TV not functioning. Personnel ok but not especially friendly. Breakfast disappointing. Cannot recommend.

The hotel is old...but in a vintage 70s way. The room reflects it's age with granite, marble, tile, and wood accents. The accommodations are a bit dated compared to most modern hotels. (Ex. Vacuum cleaner styled wall mounted hairdryer.) The room was clean and the view was amazing. The room overlooked the beautiful Plaza Rossio Elevador with the Castle of S. Jorge in the distance. The staff was very accommodating. I went with a group to share a room but they forgot to move an extra bed. They actually placed me in a temporary room for a night. The included breakfast was great in my opinion. It provides a simple traditional Portuguese/Spanish lunch consisting of bread, eggs various thin cuts of ham, yogurt, and juices.
I would recommend this hotel if you want to experience Portugal from a unique 1970s perspective.

The fourth floor smelled so much that it was impossible to stay there, so we got a new room. Otherwise it's fine
