It was an important prison for political prisoners. It's interesting to see how the nature of the prisoners evolved according to the historic events that were happening at that time in Russia. It held from terrorists that attempted against the life of the emperor to royal family members when the revolution finally succeeded. The museum allows you to enter almost every cell and next to the cell door you can read the profile of notorious prisoners.

Interesting place apart from cathedral. Describe the life in Prison cell during uprising of revolution. Lenin's elder brother was sentenced along with other revolutionary. Depiction of cells Walls with nice cancellation, but prisoner found way to communicate. It's interesting and will take 30 mins to see.

This is a museum that really makes you think about what being a political prisoner means. Get the combined ticket for all sights in the fortress, as the museum itself is very small.

The museum was mainly dedicated towards portraying the various notable people who had been held captive in the cells.

The bastion displayed how enemies or prisoners lived in a grim prision for in the past. Some jailed in the dark, damp solitary celss. Quite awful!
