Do not miss to go around this beautiful garden. Hire a guide to understand more about the amazing variety. Go in the morning with a pic nic so you can stay all day after the tour. What a little gem!

Beautifully maintained and absolutely breathtaking. Reception was great and the maintainance / grounds staff were awesome. However, my experience ended on a not so pleasant note as I was leaving. I was approached by a tour guide on my way out who was apparently upset that I had not paid for a guided tour. I explained to him that I had wanted to enjoy at gardens at my own pace. Apart from that fact I was in the company of two Vincentians who have frequently brought other friends of mine to the gardens. The guide proceeded to tell me that I was either broke or too cheap and that my tour of the gardens was a wasted one since it was without his assistance. (He was bad for business and has got to go). Beautiful place but I would stay away from the tour guide.

After you've been inundated with the commercialism of the locals marketing their wares in Kingstown, grab a taxi and escape to the serene location of the Botanic Gardens. Don't despair when you are assigned a tour guide as they make the low cost of admission, so worth it. They are very knowledgeable and able to tell you in great detail about all the plant life found at this historic location. There is so much to see, so be sure and wear comfortable shoes as you will chalk up some steps, but you won't feel it as you will be enthralled with the beauty and tranquility of this place. Hopefully by the time you visit they will have historic artifacts on display as well so you can learn more about Hairouna and the indigenous people who reside(d) here.

I've lived in St. Vincent for years, and never really got to take a tour of the gardens. It is absolutely worth it. There are tons of plants I never even knew existed there, and it's breathtaking to walk around and explore. Get a chance to see the national bird while you're there!
