First tip: don't go fancy in Slovakia, and if you have to, take some well known brand (like Kempinski), otherwise you will be disappointed. The good: nice rooms, small but cosy with view on the peaks. The bad: no proper concept. You have here a nice lobby with fire place and bar, but directly also 2 TVs with volume in the upper third so you cannot enjoy it. You can order wine for 30€, but have to eat food from buffet (17/19€ per person) in such a low quality I cannot even describe and are finished after 15 minutes. Nothing like dinner for two, a la carte cannot be ordered after 17:00. Breakfast is somehow ok, but heartlessly served, coffe comes from a wending maschine. We complained and had to ask 3 times what is the result, most likely nobody would even speak to us if we have not asked. Since our time is precious, we simply left after 1 night, the hotel staff showed no effort to keep us as the customers. We will not come again.

One night in this hotel was a GREAT EXPERIENCE. The Tatra mountains are so beautiful and staying in this hotel, you are just next to them all the time. We did nice hikes, I really recommend the one to Poľský Hrebeň. You don't need to prepare much, at the hotel it is explained which hikes you can do. We also really liked our room and the breakfast and dinner buffet. I read you have to go early to still have food on the dinner buffet but I didn't experience this. They kept on filling the buffet. We also enjoyed the sauna (1 hour included in price) with a view on the mountains.

Very nice staff. Exqusite cousine. Lovely welness with superb views to the waterfall (limited to 8 people per hour though)

Great Location. Completely remote and cut off from everything else, you truly are in the mountains and away from civilisation, which is exactly what this place is about.
Great rooms, small but perfectly adequate and offer everything you need. Hotel is full of mountain enthusiasts, and everybody is out hiking and enjoying the great outdoors, so it gives the hotel a real outdoors ambiance. Never too busy in terms of occupants, although in the summer it offers a stop off spot for people to hike to and grab some food and drinks.
Been coming to this place a couple of times a year now since it's reconstruction, it never fails to disappoint. 5 stars without fail.
