Been back to this hotel 4 or 5 times, always different times of year and the views and hotel never fail to disappoint. Staff are very friendly, rooms are great and the hotel is located in an amazing location, looking over the High Tatra Mountains. It is walking distance to the Ski slopes in the winter and to the hiking trails in the summer. 5 stars.

Wonderful and authentic hotel. Great services with a clean and comfortable wellness centre. Within walking distance of the ski slopes, approximately 5 minutes away.

Hotel Kukucka is one of the best Hotels in High Tatras where you feel like at home :)... Accommodation and design of the hotel room is very warm, rooms clean, staff friendly and nice at the restaurant and also reception (Lenka)... fantastic stay & management by Katarina Hudakova - Top professional & always nice.

Hotel Kukucka is one of the best Hotels in High Tatras where you feel like at home :)... Accommodation and design of the hotel room is very warm, rooms clean, staff friendly and nice at the restaurant and also reception (Lenka)... fantastic stay & management by Katarina Hudakova - Top professional & always nice.

Dear Hotel Kukucka,
We spent several pleasant days with you.
We thought the quality of the buildings and grounds was excellent - beautifully laid-out and built. A minor criticism is that sounds travel very easily in the building (we were in C201) - doors, footsteps etc from elsewhere in the building could be quite loud in the apartment. A bigger and perhaps easier to change criticism is the lighting: Given the quality of the building we were surprised how ugly (glaring and bright) the lighting was. Anyone hoping for a romantic atmosphere would have to turn off the lights and resort to candles! Please install at least some dimmers and some indirect lighting.
The quality of service at the front desk was great. By contrast, our impression was that the breakfast operation was poorly managed. Although the thirty-something man managing the floor of the breakfast room seemed competent, in the kitchen there were three guys chatting to each other endlessly while the butter had run out half an hour ago; there were fruit flies around the fruit (with at least one piece of fruit that had begun to rot); refilling of items at the buffet sometimes happened, sometimes not; and on some mornings we were asked for our room number, on some not. Staying with you was our first experience in Slovakia; we came from Cracow, where a comparably-priced hotel had a breakfast buffet which we thought much superior (much nicer fresh fruit, salads, etc).
