Lovely location. Once of only a few hotels in Cape Town, at beach front.

Weird hotel vibe. More like apartments. Guess the place is being converted and hanging by a thread. Avoid if possible

Stay away from this place. The 4-star grading is misleading. No value for money that you pay for this place. Ambassador hotel must be degraded. The people working there are very slack. For all the 4days spent at Ambassador hotel, there was always something wrong, like no toilet paper, microwave not working, central TV channel and volume settings wrong (and we were travelling with kids), cockroaches etc. Their response time was so bad that we always had to walk to reception to get things ourselves. We requested to be moved to an apartment with a better view, they agreed to do it the next day but it only happened on our 3rd day and guess what, 'What View"! Book at your own risk!!

Very disappointed about the quality of the rooms.
Together with me, there were 4 other people complaining at the desk.
Rooms are smelly and dirty.
The piping is so bad that the color of the water is brown dirty.
Don't go to this hotel!

Truly excellent breakfast and dining experience. Well positioned hotel from which to explore. A very pleasant stay.
