If your a tourst you'll notice that locals don't eat there, and for good reason... I can't believe they charge R70 for jelly and custard... EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED (double, even triple the price it normally cost in South Africa) AND BLAND.

Food and wine were amazing.
Great service provided by Andrew, our waiter, who was paying attention that everything was perfect.

Had read a LOT of incredible reviews for Belthazar so it is obvious I had huge expectations.
We reached a little before 10 pm when they were about to close but they were gracious enough to let us in.
The starters we ordered were queen + tiger prawns. Nothing extra ordinary and definitely over priced. Not worth the spending at all. The chicken wings were decent, again, nothing to go gaga over.
I ordered a T-Bone steak and to my surprise, was a tad bit disappointed. When I read these fawning reviews, I expected nothing but the best and that is not what I received at all. The texture and taste of the fries was also not up to the mark.
The ambience, the view is definitely top notch. So was our waiter. Not entirely sure if the "decent" food was as a result of us being late or if thats just the standard. Any how, nothing excuses a bad or unsatisfactory meal and this was definitely unsatisfactory especially for the price and all the good reviews!

This place has some awesome food! I got a 450g fillet medium-rare, with fries ("chips" down here), and broccoli. The fillet was basically a whole pound (15.8oz), but it was very good! It had a peppercorn rub that gave it an amazing taste! Great service, great atmosphere! Highly recommended!
