Most horrific experience! Poor hygienic control during surgery! Very controlling and unethical behaviour from the dentist, overriding the needs of the patient to the extend that he ignored my communication of severe pain during an implant surgery. Instead of at least pausing and evaluating the situation, he carried on and placed the implant into infected bone! This infection should have been picked up on the x-ray he took. There was zero aftercare, with phones not answered during the day. I was left alone with my severe complications and pain. Outrageously, this dentist would have charged me the R4,700 (his fee excl implant/lab) cost again in the event of a failed implant! Southern implant, who supplies the implant, replaces failed implants for free. The surgeon at Entabeni who I ended up going to for an emergency consultation, 10 days post surgery (after again not getting a hold of this dentist's practice and no option to leave a message), does not charge his patients again after a failed implant.
Dentist Dr Windisch, who this review is for, has performed an implant surgery doomed to fail, with zero sympathy for his patient. He has been the cause of severe pain, discomfort and bone loss (where before there was strong complete bone . I have been left desperately out of pocket after having to pay my new very capable dentist for the damage control and removal of the failed implant, Plus having to start all over again and pay all over again.
