Location is good but very doggy, Couldn't find a breakfast place on the beachfront for about 1,5km. Only a few hotels down the road and a local Spar store.Buildings are not look after up the road the beachfront houses are deteriorate and and it seems there is lots of Nigerians doing the drugs to the Locals.

The location is nice, at the esplanade, you hear (and feel) the waves wherever you go on the property, the room was nice and clean a wooden cabin. The kitchen is small and ok equipped, basically everything a backpacker needs :D Not necessarily the best, they have gas cookers on the counter, no oven and not enough pots. Unfortunately when we were there it was rainy and cold and it's rather an outdoor hostel partly. Most of the tables and chairs are outside. I didn't like that they don't have secure parking. You leave your car in front of the hostel along the promenade and they have a night guard there who is supposed to watch it. Also the hostel grounds are always accessible to everybody. The gate is never locked not even at night. But it's really cheap and they have two partner hostels which you should check out, the coffee shack in coffee bay and away with the fairies in hogsback.

The staff are really helpful. It's right by the beach and a great stop over if you are catching the shuttle from East London to Hogsback. However, the hostel only accepts cash so make sure you have on you when you check out otherwise you will need to walk about 10 minutes down the road to the nearest ATM.
