The place is buzzing The food is great. Staff is friendly but seem overwhelmed as everything just feels like it's taking forever; from waiting to be seated, to drinks till just wanting to pay and leave.

I really enjoy going to Piatto at Eastgate. We go regularly, and always enjoy the experience. Be it breakfast, lunch, dinner or just coffee, the staff are always friendly and the food is great!

Poor service, not sure if they short staff or what. Food was average. Steak was dry and we asked for medium to well done. My avocado on the pizza was not fresh, had a brown to black colour.

After complaining about two hairs in my mushroom sauce & being told by the waitress it was not a hair but the mushroom, she reluctantly took away the sauce & brought a "new" bowl - of which I had ANOTHER HAIR!!!
I then had carrot cake as a "apology" which also had a hair in the icing.
After paying the bill we ended up chatting for a further 2 1/2 hours at which NOT ONE waiter bothered to ask us if we wanted anything else.
The service & attitude was shocking!!! I should have known when we sat down & my first order was a glass of water with a slice of lemon / that not having lemon was a sign I should have left.
I am still waiting for the owner to call me back a week later!!!

A bit disappointing. I guess 2nd January is not a good day to dine here. My hubby had a periperi chicken and chips which he loved. I had a prawn avocado salad. They were out of avo so I settled for a prawn salad. They must have been out of prawns too because I had one queen prawn and a few shrimp with a lot of lettuce. We have eaten here many times and had no complaints. So perhaps today was a bad idea.
