We had lunch at S&W on Monday 27 April 2014 - the last time we will be there.
Carvery: Plates were dirty, minestrone was like water with a stock cube - chef thought he was doing us a favour to cut the meat.
Steaks: Not cooked as per the order - didn't taste good and were tough. Mushroom sauce was awful - baked potato was not cooked properly - sour cream was froth - not cream.
Burgers - dry
Malva pudding - was still raw in the middle - a dough not a cake
Chocolate mousse cake - definitely not freah

I was at Smith & Wollensky (Eastgate) on 21 November and ate from their carvery. The food was just aweful: vegetables that were floating around in lukewarm water, the meat (pork and beef) was cold, hard, overcooked and dried out, the potato skins were the only thing that was edible.
The guy serving us the meat was either drunk, had been fast asleep (or both) and it was clear he did not appreciate being 'bothered' by paying customers. The waitress did her best and I cannot fault her willingness and friendliness, although she would benefit from some training, something her management should consider.
Overall an evening to forget - and never to be repeated.
