Christmas holidays before 2011, we were going to South Africa from the Netherlands, and we had everything arranged in advance. As we were seven people in total, we reserved a big car (capacity of 8 persons) to pick up in Stellenbosch and give back in Port Elizabeth. However, when we went to the office in Stellenbosch, the manager told us that they do not have the car! They even did not send me an email about it a bit earlier to have enough time to change our plans! As we were in a hurry to start our trip (everything was planned such as hotel check-in etc.), they offered us two smaller cars in place of a big car, which were available to us after 4 hours (4 hours of wasting our time in vacation in front of Hertz!). All the way through the garden-route, although we tried to enjoy it, we were separated in two groups. We always remember that we cannot trust Hertz; at least the one in Stellenbosch. We never forgive this group. I was very happy with Budget and Avis but not with Hertz!
