Fantastic tasty tapas, and great friendly service. Reasonable price for the quality you get. Really have to like garlic to enjoy the food you get here, but if you do you’ll have a great time. Best food we had in a weekend in Barcelona.

El Cañota is a Galicia-inspired seafood tapas bar, and it comes with a pedigree. It's the younger brother of the renowned Rías de Galicia, one of the greatest Galician restaurants in the city and the country. El Cañota serves traditional dishes: fried fish and seafood, patatas bravas, Galician octopus, 'ensaladilla rusa', and draught beer and wine. All of it is top-quality, and served in a laid-back venue that's perfect for a celebratory meal, or for dinner after taking in a show at the Teatre Lliure, Mercat de les Flors or BTM, which are all nearby.

It is very close to the MNAC/Plaza d' España (5min walk).
The waiter was soo nice and spoke very good english - he took his time and gave very good advise about the different tapas.
The food itself was the best i had in years. It's a little expensive but totally worth it. Don't miss this place!

Horrible food ! Paid 50 euros for inedible food ! Would never recommend it to anyone!
Mushrooms smelled of fish, prawns were horrible and patatas bravas were boiled potatoes with ketchup and garlic sauce! The "grilled" vegetables that came out of the jar we were able to return !!!

We found this place on an article from TimeOut Barcelona. It was amazing! The waiter was super attentive and did a great job with the pacing of our meal. They were flexible with us, bringing us requested drinks. When we decided to upgrade our main dish, they had no problem accommodating our request. It was a GREAT experience! The white sangria was delicious, the giant steak we had was excellent. When the steak was too rare for our liking they brought us a hot stone to finish cooking it to our liking at our table. Which was perfect for four different people with four different preferences.
