Recently i went to Colombo general hospital for a long time after. I really wonder the difference. Most of the buildings are reconstructed, Old buildings are renovated. I felt that i am at private hospital. Wards, toilets are clean or almost clean. Staff is also good than earlier.

The largest tertiary care hospital in the country. It has practically all major medical and surgical specialties. However, specialties such as Paediatrics, Gynecology / Obstetrics and Cardiology, Dentistry are located in adjoining dedicated hospitals. It is considered one of the biggest hospitals in the world, especially if the above specialties are also added. This hospital is free for the locals. A & E department, however, treats even tourists.
