A great place to visit for children and family.
The dinosaurs exhibition is interesting, especially for children.

Originally a major bank in Taipei built by the Japanese now transformed into a museum. There are multiple sections to it such as the history of Taiwan from an economical stand point, the history of the landbank building itself and it's change into a modern museum, as well as a wonderful section on the ancient fauna of Taiwan with many skeletal displays of the prehistoric creatures that used to roam the land and seas. Good English translations available and the 30 dollar ticket also gives you access to the National Taiwan Museum across the road in 228 peace park. Definitely worth a visit to both these places and then kicking back in the park

Nice museum. Not to big. Good information in English and Chinese.

This is primarily a natural history museum showing fossils discovered in and around Taiwan. Most visitors, however, are attracted by the towering replicas of dinosaur skeletons.

The museum is housed in a beautiful early 20th century building that was originally built for the Nippon Kangyo Bank, which was later renamed Land Bank. The original vault of the bank has been preserved and now has a collection of memorabilia from the early years of the bank. I found this more interesting than the fossils or dinosaurs. The museum also has a small gift shop and a nice restaurant with outdoor seating. English is available everywhere in the museum.

The admission ticket costs 30 NT (1 USD) and can also be used for admission to the National Taiwan Museum across the street.

It's like 3 museums in 1! Banking, Taipei history, and dinosaurs. Interesting mix and something for everybody I guess. Nice alfresco seating outside if it weren't raining. Dino Cafe was a pleasant break. I think the tickets get you entry to the National Taiwan Museum too but didn't make it since it closes at 5pm.
