So, when we first arrived Thailand one of our dogs stopped eating. We had a mixed experience at Thonglar. They had different doctors every day and few spoke English well - of course we should speak Thai so that is not really their fault. They seemed fairly strong on the technical front but every visit took two hours or more and each doctor had a different prognosis. It was also VERY expensive. Our dog died one month later. We never found out what was wrong with him and I sometimes wonder whether the medicines they were giving him exacerbated the problem he had rather than solved it. But I am not a vet.
We have three dogs and a cat now but haven't been back partly because it is inconvenient and partly because of the bad memories.
However, I recently decided we should try them again. Soo, we took all four of our animals over to them for a variety of reasons tonight. There is a lot of traffic on the way and only four or five parking spots out front. We had a 17:00 appointment but they called to delay it to 18:00. When we arrived all the parking spots were full. A woman came out to help us with the animals. I gave her one of the dogs and I had two. My husband went to search for parking. The clinic is poorly located on Chaeng Wattana, one of the busiest streets in Bangkok. The lady immediately began walking with our dog in the lane where traffic was coming. I called her back and walked in front with my dogs curbside.
Suddenly, she lost hold of my dog who then shied away from her right into traffic. She ran after the dog and I was blocking traffic trying to call my dog back. I couldn't do anything because I had two dogs with me. I put the dogs in the vet clinic and ran out to see if my dog was still alive. By some amazing fortune, my dog cleared 1/4 mile and 6 lanes of traffic without getting hit and was holed up on the second floor of a car dealership. When I called, he came right away.
So, granted, accidents happen. However, the woman at the door was clearly uncomfortable with dogs and not well trained which is why she lost hold of my dog. The clinic is very poorly situated and could easily lead to great harm or death of any pet that accidentally gets loose. Only the people that chased down my dog apologized for what had happened. No comfort was offered. It was 7 by the time the situation was resolved, two hours after the original appointment. I was then told it would be another 30 minutes before the doctor could see us. We just walked out. My daughter has school and needed to go to bed on time. We remembered the drill from when we used Thonglar before and knew we wouldn't be done for another hour or two.

Excellent staff. Helped me get all the documents needed to bring my dog to england. Fairly priced and good english.
