Based on reviews I didn't want to rent a car there, but since it's the closest car rental to the hotel I decided to give it a try. The first time we rented Toyota Yaris for 4 days, it was very clean, low miles, everything works well. The only thing the gas level was less than a half and they expected the same at the check out.
There is a beautiful option, for 35 AED they can bring (or pick up) car to your hotel, but be ready to call 1-2 times to confirm and expect them to be 30-45 min late. So in you are in no rush it's pretty nice.
Second time we rented just for a day, it was a different Toyota. It was not perfectly clean, but descent.
I would recommend to include 50 AED per day full coverage to everyone, people in UEA drive crazy (compared to USA). I didn't have any accidents but it's always nice to know no matter what happens your car is covered.
Also ladies at the desk are pretty helpful, the very first time we rented a car in the Ajman city center, showed DL, passport. But then, they gave us a phone number and I was calling from hotel to prolong rental or reserve for the other day.

Prices are okay, but the cars are really dirty. I keep telling to clean the cars but nothing happens. But still the only opportunity to get a rental car in Ajman

У меня никаких проблем не возникло, кроме как при оформлении изза плохого английского девушке пришлось мне объяснять все практически на пальцах. Брали в марте 2016 машину "на месте" без предзаказа. На выбор были 3 машины с автоматом. Все машины 2015- 2016 годов с минимальным пробегом.
